International Conference On "Educational Leadership For Global Social Justice"Held Udaipur.A Three day's International conference on "Educational Leadership for Global Social Justice" t finishes at Hotel Chunda The Palace,Udaipur, under the banner of Rajasthan Council of Educational Administration and Management . In this conference educationist from all over the world and around the country gathered to exchange their views on this topic, to share and to learn.
On 17th during the press conference the cosponsorer MPUAT udaipur's Vice Chancellor Prof Uma Shankar Sharma released the souvenir: STRID.
In the inaugural session, Justice S.S.Kothari, Lokayukt ,Rajasthan Government Expressed his view on "How educational resources can be channeled towards social justice is a challenge that rests in theory and practice in educational leadership . The recognition , acceptance and willingness to act on this challenge are what distinguishes the social side of Educational leadership from the many other organisational responsibilities performed by the educators. The special guest prof. S.B. Singh,ACE - Ohio State University Stated that the world today is facing so many problems and challenges due to damage being done to our natural and social environment because of greed and ambitions of people. The strife-torn communities ,narrow out look,selfish attitude, religious fanaticism, political ambitions,regional feelings and intolerance etc. Have resulted into declining social justice to the common people. The President of Common Wealth Council of Educational Administration and Management,(the mother council of RCEAM) Dr.Ken Brien from Canada was while appreciating the theme of the conference mentioned that it is a timely theme since schools and school systems around the world recognise the role of education in creating,maintaining and promoting justice in our society. Prof. Hem Lata Talesara,the Chair person of the conference presented a concept note. Prof. Glen T. Martin, RadFord University,Virginia,USA,in his key note address tried to analyse the problems concerning social justice in all countries and also discussed the multiple ways in which variety of social justice problems are interrelated and interconnected.
The Secretory General of RCEAM and the conference coordinator Dr.Indu Kothari reported that the subject was thoroughly discussed for two days under 16 sub themes. 154 papers on different sub themes were presented which were followed by thorough discussions.
In his keynote address Prof A.P. Sharma,visiting professor, Willamette University USA Tried to ascertain the national and social responsibility of teacher education .On 20th there was a symposium on Social diversity and Justice. In the post lunch session Prof. Wasef Marashdeh of Irbid University, Jordan,delivered his lecture in the plenary session maintaining that people look at universities and conferences as real source of knowledge and education ,they care to come to these sources because they deeply realise that it is the ideal way to flourish their creative abilities .
In the plenary session on 21st the Vice Chancellor of Kota University , Kota, Prof. Parmendra Kumar Dashora insisted that curriculum at the primary level should be inclusive of areas like Social Justice.David Gurr of the University of Melbourne was of the opinion that successful schools are the most effective and efficient tool to promote social justice in the society.
In the valedictory programme Prof. Martin was the Chief Guest.Dr.Ken Brien presided the ceremony. Dr.P.K.Dashora in his inspiring and stirring lecturer stated that India had been the global leader in Social Justice with it's philosophy like "SARVE BHAWANTI SUKHINA SERVE SANTU NIRAMAYAH" where the wellbeing of all beings is the part of daily prayer. Prof. Shashi Wanjari, V.C. Of SNDT Women's University , Mumbai was of the opinion that in this world full of changes challenges and opportunities , it is the role of educational administrator and leaders to facilitate change and bring about the challenge of social justice to the society.
RCEAM Fellowship Awards for their contributions to the society were conferred upon 12 people the list includes Prof.P.K.Dashora,Prof.U.S. Sharma. Prof. Dinesh Kumar,Prof.Wsef Marashdeh,Dr. Ushashi Guha, DR. ShashiKumar,Dr Bharti Mate, Dr.Sudha Satya,Dr. Nimmy Maria,Dr. Nasarin , Dr. Rajesh Mantri and Dr. Indu Kothari.The report of the conference was read by Dr. Shashi Kumar and the resolution of the conference was submitted by Prof. Raghu. Vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Hem Lata Talesara.
